If you can see cables, the install isn't done. We hide everything — HDMI, power, audio, optical, ethernet — inside the drywall. The TV looks like it's floating. The receiver lives in a credenza below. Nothing visible. That's the standard.

There are two ways to hide TV wires in Tampa homes. The lazy way is a plastic raceway stuck to the wall. We don't do that — it looks worse than the cables. The right way is an in-wall recessed outlet kit: a code-approved relocator box behind the TV, a second one below for your devices, and a fish tape pulling cables through the cavity in between.

Florida construction throws a wrinkle: a lot of houses have concrete block exterior walls with a 3/4" furring strip and drywall on top. That means only ~1" of cavity for cables. We've fished cable through that gap thousands of times. Most installers won't try. We will.

Why Bayshore TV Mounts

Why Tampa Bay homeowners
pick us first.

  • In-wall, not in-raceway. Plastic surface raceways are not concealment — they're just smaller cables. We use code-rated recessed brush plates and Datacomm relocator kits, drywall to drywall.
  • Code-compliant power. NEC requires a proper recessed outlet behind the TV — you can't run a regular extension cord inside the wall. We install a rated PowerBridge or Datacomm kit so it's safe and inspector-passable.
  • Florida-aware. We know which Tampa neighborhoods have CBS (concrete block stucco) construction with thin cavities. We bring the right fish rods, glow rods, and pull strings for tight spaces.
  • Soundbar wires too. Soundbars are 50% of the visible-cable problem. We tuck the soundbar HDMI/optical/power into the same hidden run.
  • Same flat $149. We don't charge by the foot or by the cable. $149 covers concealment for any normal residential setup. Even with multiple devices.
Our Process

How we work.

01

Quick inspection

We take a fingernail-rap on the wall to confirm it's drywall (not plaster — Tampa has very few plaster homes), and identify stud locations and any obstructions.

02

Cut two openings

One behind the TV, one behind your media console. Standard 4-inch round cutouts using an oscillating multi-tool. Drywall dust is contained with a vacuum at the cut.

03

Fish the cables

HDMI, power relocator, audio — all pulled through the wall cavity from one cutout to the other using a glow rod or fish tape.

04

Plate, mount, test

Brush plate covers each opening. TV mounts to studs. Cables connect at top, devices connect at bottom. Test every input. Photo before/after.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Can you hide wires behind any wall?
Almost any drywall wall — yes. Plaster walls (rare in Tampa) we don't touch because cracks. Concrete-block walls require a different technique (surface raceway or running through the slab) — call us, we'll tell you what's possible.
Is it actually safe to put power cords inside the wall?
Only with a code-approved recessed outlet kit (Datacomm, PowerBridge, Legrand). A regular extension cord run inside the wall is a fire-code violation. We always use the rated kit — your insurance and Tampa code inspector will be happy.
How long does wire concealment take?
Add about 30-45 minutes on top of the basic mount. So a full premium install is usually 60-90 minutes.
Can you do this in a condo or rental?
In condos: usually yes — we're cutting your drywall, not the structural wall. In rentals: get landlord written approval first. Some Tampa landlords love it (improvement); others want patches when you leave. We can also un-do it cleanly with a drywall patch (extra cost).
Will you find existing wires inside the wall?
We use a non-contact voltage detector and a stud finder with wire-detect mode before cutting. We've never accidentally drilled a wire — but if a previous installer did something illegal in there, no guarantee.
What about HDMI 2.1 / 8K cables?
We use Monoprice CL2/CL3-rated in-wall cables certified for 4K@120Hz and 8K. The cheap Amazon CL2 cables fail at length over 15 feet. We bring the good stuff.
